Ever thought about fostering kittens or cats?

Lian from Greenlane

I volunteer with Pet Whisperer Rescue who rescue, rehabilitate and rehome strays and abandoned cats in Auckland.

We’re getting more and more messages to help with kittens or cats on the streets, and our volunteers/fosters are already full to the brim. Become a foster and help make a difference to the life of a rescued kitten/cat.

We provide the things you’ll need to look after the cat like food, litter, toys, bedding, etc., all you need is:

✅ small room or space to set a large crate
✅ landlords permission if renting
✅ ability to transport cat for vet visits
✅ and time to provide care, love, and attention to rescued cats to get them ready for their forever home

This is a great opportunity for kids to learn the responsibilities around owning a pet or help you to understand if you’re ready to own a pet yourself. It’s also great if you work from home and could use some furry company.

If you can help, fill in this the volunteer form:

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
