The Government’s decision to move Auckland to alert level 3 until 26 August after a new outbreak of the virus means everyone in Maungakiekie-Tāmaki neighbourhoods once again has a role to play by staying home and staying local when they go out to shop or exercise.
“Our communities were really good the last time around, and so they know what to do. It is quite simple. Stay away from public amenities, wear a mask when in public, stay home when you can and together we can make sure this is over as quickly as possible," explains Bartley.

Following the announcement on Tuesday night, the Northern Regional Health Co-ordination Centre recorded over 7800 Covid-19 tests on Wednesday, beating the previous record of 6407 tests on June 23.
Anyone experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms should seek to get a free Covid-19 test at their local general practice, urgent care clinic or one of Auckland's 15 community testing centres.
