URGENT CALL TO ANIMAL LOVING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS or ADULTS
(excellent opportunity for future vet or vet-nurse students)
Hi everyone,
The holidays are almost upon us. For home-based adults or students who will not be working full-time, or going away ... and who love animals ... this may be the perfect time to invest in rehabilitating an abandoned cat which has been uplifted from the street.
There are 8 x TAME 10 month old (teenage) cats in Glendene which desperately need pre-fostering.
If :
- you are in a single-family home (i.e. not flatting) with a screen door, or screens on the windows
- you have a reasonably quiet home environment (i.e. no 'boisterous' younger siblings) or loud parties
- there is often someone home.
- you have time each day to spend working with one or more of these young tame cats (to get them re-used to human handling).
... please call or text Maria (022 0109068).
You will be provided with a large cage (crate) to initially contain the cat. As the cat gets tamer, they will be able to leave the crate and walk around the house. The screens (door or window) will allow fresh air to circulate without risk of their getting lost. When they are ready for adoption, they will be advertised for re-homing.
Of course, if you decide to keep them that would be wonderful.
This is a great opportunity for anyone who has vet or vet-nurse aspirations. ... or anyone who would like to offer hope to an abandoned animal.
Look forward to hearing from you. :))
Poll: 🤖 What skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?
The Reserve Bank has shared some pretty blunt advice: there’s no such thing as a “safe” job anymore 🛟😑
Robots are stepping into repetitive roles in factories, plants and warehouses. AI is taking care of the admin tasks that once filled many mid-level office jobs.
We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?

Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?
The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed 🚗🚲👟
While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisations—like NZTA—manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.
We’d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?

77.3% Community feedback and transparency is needed.
-
22.7% No. This would be impossible in practice.
Brain Teaser of the Day 🧠✨ Can You Solve It? 🤔💬
Make a hearty dish. Take just half a minute. Add four parts of kestrel. Then just add one. What have you made?
(Trev from Silverdale kindly provided this head-scratcher ... thanks, Trev!)
