Trailer Sailor and Trailer for sale - open to offers

Stephen and Deearna Lasham from Aotea Sea Scouts

This trailer Sailor is for sale complete with trailer.

The trailer was built in 2014 by Hosking Trailers Ltd in Albany. The trailer has seen very little use over the last six years so is in excellent condition with only a light rust in a few places. One of the tires was replaced with a new one, and the brake pads were replaced in order to get the warrant of fitness, which is current at 5th January. From memory at the time the trailer cost in excess of $4,000.

The boat is in need of TLC. It was parked on the Manukau Harbour for the last six months and we were not able to go out to it due to COVID-19 restrictions. During this time someone broke into it, threw the hatch covers overboard and let rainwater get in. They had waded out to it and so took mud onboard, and as such the interior needs a thorough clean down.

The boat comes with aluminium mast and boom and a mainsail, and possibly a jib, but I'm not sure about the jib. The mast has all the staiths and ropes associated with it. The boat also comes with an anchor and chain on a rope.

If you are not into sailing, then the boat would make an excellent fishing boat if an outboard motor is fitted. It has an attached place on the rear for an outboard motor. If you do want it only for a fishing boat, we would welcome keeping the mast to use as a flag pole for the Scouts.

We are open to offers.

All money from the sale of the boat goes to Aotea Sea Scouts, we are hoping to get money to enable us to start replacing our aging kayaks, as these are more useful to the Scouts than the trailer sailor ever was.

Offers should be made in writing via email to Stephen.Lasham@gmail.com for consideration, or you can email the same email to request an inspection.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
