Free funding workshop. TOMORROW
This is a free funding workshop opportunity and there are still paces available. If you need to fundraise for an event or community activity then this workshop will help you find opportunities and successfully bid for them.
As well as advice on how and where to apply for funding, the Department of Internal Affairs will be present to answer questions about the Covid Wellbeing Fund. Schools, church groups, charities, sports clubs could all benefit from this event. Thursday 19 November 11am 1pm, 3pm or 5pm. Limited to those working in or with the Maungakiekie-Tamaki area. Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

Begins 9 February 2026. Monday each week during the school term at 10:00am, followed by morning tea and play time at Elevate Christian Disability Trust, 173 Mt Smart Rd, Onehunga, Auckland.
