Free funding workshop. TOMORROW

This is a free funding workshop opportunity and there are still paces available. If you need to fundraise for an event or community activity then this workshop will help you find opportunities and successfully bid for them.

As well as advice on how and where to apply for funding, the Department of Internal Affairs will be present to answer questions about the Covid Wellbeing Fund. Schools, church groups, charities, sports clubs could all benefit from this event. Thursday 19 November 11am 1pm, 3pm or 5pm. Limited to those working in or with the Maungakiekie-Tamaki area. Email: communityempowerment@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz or fill in the online form to register.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
