If you love singing and can sing in tune, come and join our very friendly community choir, Cantemus, this year. We're an unauditioned SATB choir conducted by Stuart Weightman, singing a wide variety of secular and religious music, from Bach to the Beatles and beyond. We practise on Monday nights from 7.30 to 9.30 (including supper), at St Luke's church in Newmarket, starting the year on Monday February 15. Come and check us out and see why choral singing is proven to be great for your health and wellbeing!

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
