Oh jolly good we said
We can persecute the living
And celebrate the dead
We’ll talk up all the old things
And make the present bad
And look forward to a future
That no one yet has had
We’ll become experts in all matters
That once were out of our bounds
And run select secret societies
All hidden underground
We’ll mine for money whilst sleeping
And see planets beyond the moon
Whilst never leaving our armchairs
Or the comfort of our room
And when the children’s voices
Vanish from the streets
We’ll put it down to friends on Facebook
And watch their Google meets
We’ll research how to garden
And go online and buy the tools
Then contact our local handyman
Because we’re told outside is for the fools
We'll be asked by the Facebook Gods
'What is on your minds'
And answer them with integrity
and then be moderated for being unkind
Yes, the Internet has made man-kind
And for that we are forced to pay
Without the knowing of what the future holds
As for hindsight, we’ll turn that knowledge away

Australia's two most populous states are trialling facial recognition software that lets police check people are home during COVID-19 quarantine, expanding trials that have sparked controversy to the vast majority of the country's population.
While the recognition technology has been used in countries like China, no other democracy has been reported as considering its use in connection with coronavirus containment procedures.
The UN has warned against facial rcognition technology, arguing it could pose a serious danger to human rights -
"Facial recognition technology might seem like a convenient way to monitor people in quarantine but ... if something goes wrong with this technology, the risk of harm is high".

A similar initiative was launched in Australia at the start of the month, and buses became known as “Jabba the Bus”.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has challenged the public to come up with a better name, but has ruled out “Busey McBusface”.
What do you think the vaccination buses should be called?

On Tuesday, it welcomed three young lionesses from Australia.
The zoo said twin sisters Aziza and Kibibi and half-sister Ilola – all four years old – have come from Werribee Open Range Zoo in Melbourne, Victoria.
Auckland Zoo is currently closed because of Covid-19 alert level 4, but once it reopens, the lions will be ready and waiting to see visitors.
Will you be booking in a visit to the zoo to see these new lions once restrictions ease?
