Greetings Neighbours. On the afternoon of Sunday 12 October I fell over outside 38 Polygon Rd sustaining a cracked vertebrae, scrapes and bruises. I spent the following 8 days in hospital. I'm very grateful that a number of kind persons came to my aid. A few days later in my letterbox there were 2 lovely cards and a batch of homemade chocolate chips cookies from Olivia, Emma and Rich and also Amelia. Poll: Should we be giving the green light to new mining projects? 💰🌲
The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
