Avoid "Moving Auckland" company!!

Anna from Glen Innes

Wanting to warn people of a disastrous move I have just had.
Avoid the company 'Moving Auckland'. They have great reviews but either total BS or filtered.
My experience on Monday was the kind of thing you can't make up!! I had signed a contract and paid a deposit with them to show up between 8am and 9am. When I called at 9.15am asking where they were, I was stuffed around and lied to - they finally showed up at 3pm with a truck that was smaller than requested/signed for and None of the packing equipment as promised - such as wrap to protect the mattresses and blankets to protect wooden furniture (according to the contract this was included). After finally being packed, at 6pm they left for the delivery address which was not quite 2 hours away - the trip took them over 3.5 hours with no contact and no reason given!! At the other end they tried to charge me $400 more than quoted and demanded a signature stating no damage to any items and nothing left behind (they left half a garage of items behind because the truck they sent was smaller than requested) and threatened to take my children's beds away if the paperwork wasn't signed - it was now 11pm!
This is the short version as the long version was 12 phone calls, abuse, lies, and broken property.
Please take it as a lesson and spread the word as far as possible - don't use Auckland Movers to move!!!

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.

Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.

For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.

Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?

We hope this brings a smile!
