GABBS dates for 2025

Robyn Faithfull from Great Auckland Bargain Book Sale

The next Great Auckland Bargain Book Fair will be held on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd November 2025.
Location: Barfoot & Thompson Stadium (Corner of Kepa Road & Kohimarama Road).

BOOKS WANTED!

If you have good condition second-hand books that you would like to donate, you can drop them off at our sorting depot behind the Barfoot & Thompson Stadium (Kohimarama) throughout the year.
Access via gate 2 of Selwyn College - follow the road to the left around to the back of the school / stadium to the drop off point by the large containers. There is a red staircase to the left and under this is a covered drop off area.

Please put your donations in a box or bag and leave it on our shelves under shelter. If you have a substantial number of books, contact us in advance to coordinate the most ideal time for your donation. We often receive books that have been sitting in garages for years, covered in mould, which will end up in the rubbish bin, which costs us money to dispose of. So, before you make the trip and to save us the trouble, please read what we do and don’t accept below:

We accept:
– Good-excellent condition, resalable, second-hand books
– Children’s books
– DVDs & CDs
– Puzzles & games
– Records & vinyls

We DON’T accept:
– Worn, dirty, moldy or in poor condition books
– Ex-library books
– Magazines older than 1 year
– Encyclopedias
– Cassettes
– Video tapes

Road Closure

Andrea Neighbourly Lead from St Heliers

Hello everyone and Seasons' Greetings. A lamp-post in leaning well over the road on Tarawera Terrace, St Heliers, so through traffic is now prohibited. The lamp- post is on one's left and about outside number 16 Tarawera Terrace if you are coming from Long Drive. The only traffic now allowed is if you live near by in Tarawera Terrace. Cars coming from Grampian Road are being re-directed. Sorry, I don't have any more details about the length of time this may be but hope this helps if you have plans to drive up Tarawera Terrace. Cheers, Andrea
