Youth Boys Hockey - get trained by one of the best
Auckland University Hockey Club is holding their trials for Youth Boys (Y9-12, max 16yrs) this Thursday & next with trainings starting the following week.
Bring your lad along for exceptional coaching and arguably better opportunities than bigger clubs (IMHO of course!). The club is small and very friendly 😁. And from next year, we'll have our own home turf (FINALLY!!) at Colin Maiden.
We are excited to announce Kervin Guttenbeil as Head Coach of the AUHC Youth Boys for 2025!
Kervin joins us with an impressive coaching background, having led the Saint Kentigern College 1st XI Boys for the past two seasons and continuing in this role for 2025. His experience developing young athletes makes him a valuable asset to the Auckland University Hockey Club youth program.
Kervin is also a key player in the Auckland University Men’s Premier side since 2021 and was a member of the Auckland Men’s team at the 2024 National Hockey Championship (NHC). He will be joined by Josh Child as Assistant Coach.
Trial Dates:
📅 Thursday, 20th March – 7:00-8:00pm
📅 Thursday, 27th March – 7:00-8:00pm
📍 Both trials will be held at Lloyd Elsmore Park, Pakuranga.
Come down to showcase your skills, meet new teammates, and secure your spot for the season! Please ensure you register for the trials using the link below:

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
