Smoking is this the start of the end of democracy
The excitement is kewl aye but in reality its not when one looks on the street thousands of kiwis already struggling to kick a government implemented addiction called smoking, Now have to pay more which in turn means more debt more starving people more crime and more Victims of Crime But celebrate the new year......why? Why celebrate when thousands are raped, beaten and neglected due to the affects of alcohol yet there are no serious taxes on alcohol and its okay to have a liquor store on every corner in rewa even next right next to a school in Rowendale Rd. Yet no one calls for justice no one wants prohibition yet its killing off our families faster than smoking does. But lets Celebrate the new year get drunk go out and start fights, drive and kill and or injure ourselves and others, Lets Celebrate and get hammered bash our kids smash up the wife, Wake up the next day wondering who is next to you. But hey lets celebrate the new year.
Is there an answer to freeing the country of smoking yes of course its not working raising the price of smokes as now folk are being flooded with vapes and they are even more harmful to the body as one is putting cold liquid onto the lungs directly. No the answer is actually simple slowly bring down the lvls of tar and nicotine in smoke and tobacco.
ATM the Government regulations have actually increased the levels of Nicotine into cigarettes and tobacco as they to try and get rid of old high potency stocks and the tax raising is just so the Government have more money to buy their liquor with. By the way People the Govt are actually exhorting money off addicts which is a crime and yet no one does anything about it.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
58.9% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
25.1% No, individuals should take responsibility
-
16% ... It is complicated
Night-time chipsealing works on SH2
From 9 to 17 February, stop/go traffic management will be in place on SH2 between McPherson Road and Dimmock Road on multiple nights between 9pm and 5am (Sundays to Thursdays).
During the day, all lanes will be open, but speed restrictions will apply to allow the chipseal to set and to protect vehicles travelling over the newly laid surface.
There may be delays to your journey when travelling through the area. This is weather dependent so check NZTA Journey Planner before you travel.
