Parvovirus is a highly contagious virus that causes severe gastrointestinal disease, particularly in young and unvaccinated dogs. It can progress rapidly and become life-threatening.
🐾 Common symptoms include:
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite
• Fever or low body temperature
• Dehydration
• Vomiting
• Diarrhoea that may progress to blood in the stools
Parvo cannot be cured with a specific medication. Treatment involves intensive supportive care, and sadly, even with the best treatment, some puppies may not survive.
💉 Vaccination is the best and most effective protection.
Ensuring your puppy completes their full vaccination course — and that adult dogs are up to date with boosters — is critical.

☀️ Shade: Create shady spots in your yard or home where your pets can escape the sun's intensity. Trees, umbrellas, or even a cozy blanket can provide relief.
☀️ Cool Treats: Whip up some pet-friendly frozen treats! Try freezing dog-safe fruits like watermelon, berries, or even broth ice blocks (salt reduced). It's a tasty way to beat the heat!
☀️ Morning and Evening Walks: Opt for walks during the cooler parts of the day. Early mornings and late evenings are perfect for exercise without overheating.
