The memes and moments getting the nation through the latest lockdown
Kia ora neighbours. Since New Zealand plunged into lockdown last week, the laughs for Kiwis have been few and far between.
Apart from Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins’ Freudian slip at an afternoon press conference, where he muddled a message about people stretching their legs and instead said “spread your legs”, the mood of the nation has been heavy and serious.
But as you’d expect, a minister uttering “spread your legs” at a high-profile press conference was music to the ears of meme makers.
Some prefer to take their mind off lockdown by trying something new, such as creating mandalas (abstract art) from things found lying around the house or gathered from nature outside.
Others have been finding ways to keep their community entertained during their lockdown strolls around the neighbourhood, including a return of the hugely popular window teddy bears of 2020.

Climate change is linked to world population explosion
Global warming which is caused by population explosion; particularly in Sahara and desert regions is now causing huge problems with millions of displaced people now living in refugee camps even whole cities like Cox bazaar and Gaza.

we can see that the fertility rate column shows which countries are responsible and have more than 2 children per family.
The UN world health organisation WHO needs to address this problem head on at it receives over $6 billion annually but instead of providing free contraceptives and vasectomies to these third world countries where their economies and house building and road, water, sewage and electric infra structure cannot keep up with a doubling population every 10 years it is just supplying free drugs and food which just makes the situation worse for them, as it wrecks their agricultural economies and self sufficiency with the result being the creation of refugee cities like Gaza.

A popular Pam's frozen food has been recalled.
What you need to know:
- Pams brand Tempura Coated Chicken Nuggets (1kg) have been recalled by Foodstuffs.
- The product may contain foreign matter (blue rubber).
- This product is sold at Four Square, Gilmours, New World, Pak’nSave and Social Supermarket stores throughout New Zealand.
- The affected batch has the marking of Best Before: 16 Oct 2025
- The issue was raised following a customer complaint.
- Customers should return the product to their retailer for a full refund.
