Antique wooden skates that my husband has, are 63 years old with original leather heel brace and original strap laces. Yes, he did competition skating in them.
These are called “Friese Doorlopers” (Frisian runners)
From Wikipedia:
Friese means "Frisian" ("of Friesland"), and doorloper "to walk" or "run through", reflecting the design. It consists of a shaped length of wood secured to a metal blade of the same length to form a single unit which can be bound to a boot or shoe.
Great to use as a wall ornament.
One photo includes me learning how to ice skate at Kinderdijk frozen canal, Netherlands. I fell down of course.

The Salvation Army's annual Christmas Appeal, "Give A Little Joy This Christmas," is crucial this year due to rising hardship.

Over one in five Kiwi children face food insecurity, with the situation worse for Māori and Pacific families. Rising unemployment and the cost of living crisis are pushing more people into need, but donations and government support are dwindling.

Despite this, The Salvation Army continues to provide vital services, including food, counselling, and lifestyle programmes. Donations, no matter the size, bring long-term change to families, ensuring joy this Christmas and beyond.

Don’t Wash Your Hair In The Shower

It’s so good to finally get a “Health Warning” that is useful.
It involves the shampoo when it runs down your body when you shower with it… a warning to us all!”
I don’t know why I didn’t figure this out sooner!
I use shampoo in the shower when I wash my hair.
The shampoo runs down my whole body and printed very clearly on the shampoo label is this warning: “For Extra Body & Volume”
No wonder I have been gaining weight!
Well I got rid of that shampoo.
I am going to start showering with Dawn dishwashing Soap instead.
The label reads: “Dissolves Fat” that is otherwise difficult to remove.

Sanitarium Weet-Bix 1.2kg Family Pack for sale or swap

The problem now is that she has had a stroke and was in hospital and reha for quite a while, and then stayed with a friend (as she could not use her affected arm) until home help had been organised for her. As a consequence of the stroke she also had to completely change her diet - so no more Weet-Bix (and no more smoking which is great - she looks MUCH better!). I'd like to sell them for her for $4.99 for a family pack to get some of her money back, or swap them against fruit or veggies or healthy food. Pickup in Green Bay (we live opposite Green Bay High School).

Price: $4.99
