Poll: Should we be giving the green light to new mining projects? ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐ŸŒฒ

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if itโ€™s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.

We want to know: Should mining projects like this move ahead?

Keen to dig deeper? Mike White has the scoop.

Can anyone please help with transporting supplies to the Tokoroa dog shelter?

Anne from St Heliers

Hello Neighbours
Iโ€™ve collating donations for the SWDC dog shelter (near-expiry food; towels, blankets, plastic beds, toys, etc). Thereโ€™s enough already to fill a 4-wheel drive or big ute but, at least, a BIG boot full. It would be great to get this to the shelter (esp. the short-dated food) ASAP

If you have spare / unused stretcher beds, plastic dog baskets, bedding, food, metal food bowls, leads, collars, toys, etc which you'd like to donate, please contact me, many thanks
