Living history at Alberton...a few places still available for this Sunday's sewing workshop!!!
Traditional skills of crochet and hand-crank machine sewing were back in action and in full force in the ballroom at Alberton on Sunday!
What a treat to have heritage sewing and textile experts Gracie Matthews (and her ten antique Singer babies - all with names and personalities of their own) guiding visitors though the sewing process and Megan Mills teaching crochet with 'granny squares'.
Two of each workshops were held in the morning and afternoon, with a spot of tea & scones enjoyed by everyone on the sunny verandah overlooking the garden. Scroll through the photos to get a glimpse of the day.
Due to popular demand and highly limited places, a second crafty day has been scheduled on Sunday 29 November! Crochet classes now booked out but there are still places for the sewing workshop at 10:30 and a 2nd at 1:30pm will be scheduled if there is enough interest.Tickets $60. Scam Alert: Bank cold calls
ASB is warning customers about reports of cold calls from scammers claiming to be from ASB. These scammers are trying to obtain personal information, including usernames, dates of birth, and verification codes sent to your mobile phone.
๐ก๏ธ The "Caller Check" Test
If you get a call from someone claiming to be from ASB and youโre unsure, just ask them for a Caller Check. You will then be able to verify the call through the app.
Remember, banks will:โโ
โ Never ask for your banking passwords, PINs, or verification codesโโ
โ Never need to know your full credit card number โ especially the CVC
โ Never ask you to download software or remotely access your deviceโโ
โ Never ask you to purchase gift cards or transfer funds.
