Hi All,

I have been in the Kingsland neighbourhood for nearly two years now and love it. With lockdown in full swing I have really been missing my families dog, but because of covid I cannot visit him. I would love to offer my dog walking services to someone who may be too busy working or just wants some off days. Happy to walk them for free just for some dog company a couple days during the week.

Give me a shout if you need some help with your furry friend and flick me a comment or email.

Thanks.

Stella.

Have your say: Signs & ads at liquor stores

Dr Nicki Jackson from Alcohol Healthwatch

Many of our communities are swamped with liquor stores. The more liquor stores, the more liquor store signs & advertising.

Auckland Council is currently asking for public feedback on signs and advertising at liquor stores. Consultation closes October 27.

We've made it super-easy to have your say. It just takes 2 mins at www.protectourfuture.org.nz.... We've already received ~400 submissions!

We know that liquor stores can be an eyesore in neighbourhoods, with their huge posters and numerous signs. This can impact the way that communities feel about where they live, reducing community wellbeing.

We also know that the exterior of liquor stores often feature images of alcohol brands, products and drinking occasions. Research shows that alcohol ads are harmful to our children, young people and persons with alcohol use disorders.

Restricting signs and advertising at liquor stores is a win-win. We can create healthier, fairer environments that support Aucklanders to drink less and reap the amazing benefits. We can do this now while continuing our efforts to reduce the proliferation of outlets across many communities in Auckland.

Thank you for your support.
