The World Choir Games are coming to Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland in July 2024 and we want you to be a part of it to ensure it is truly the Games of Welcome! We are recruiting a team of 400 volunteers to help coordinate the biggest choral competition in the world. Volunteers will be assisting each choir navigate their way around Auckland, and ensure they know how to get to each of their competition venues, as well as recommending other activities to do in Auckland.

Volunteers will also play a pivotal role in ensuring each concert, competition and ceremony runs smoothly by assisting with back of house event operations, greeting spectators upon arrival as well as assisting with any media inquiries and personnel. Additionally, with choirs from all around the world, we are looking for volunteers who speak multiple languages to assist with translation for each choir during their time in New Zealand.

This is the first time the World Choir Games have come to the Oceania region so it's an opportunity not to be missed to be part of the vibrant, exciting and fun atmosphere that comes with over 300 international choirs coming together.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
