Fascinating to see this little private seaside development over the last few months as I have kayaked around the Marine Parade area in the Bay of Hernes.
Here's what the council website states;
Tree or vegetation near a body of water
Trees or vegetation (non-pest species) are likely to be protected if:
on or near (within 20m) steep coastal cliffs - if the cliff is within 150m of the high tide mark
within or close to sensitive coastal or wetland areas.
Not the first resident to destroy pohutukawa in this this hood, but definitely one of the most blatant in the last decade I’ve been paddling this part of town. What did the neighbours think I wonder?
