Nurturing Families charity URGENT APPEAL in "dire need of children's clothing from newborn to 10 years"
🚨 URGENT APPEAL: We're in dire need of children's clothing from newborn to 10 years old. The demand is unprecedented, and our donations are depleting rapidly. Today alone, we have 76 orders we can't fulfill due to insufficient stock.
Please ensure donated items are in good condition—no rips, stains, or holes. If you wouldn't pass it to a loved one please kindly refrain from donating it. Your help in washing and sorting items by size would immensely speed up our distribution process.
We are 6/42 Henderson Valley road. Open 9-2 Monday- Thursday
The items you donate will clothe a child in need of some warmth and together we can really make a difference! ❤️
to address this dire need, they are opening up for a one off delivery drop in over THIS weekend. - Saturday 8 May, 10am to 3pm - 6/42 Henderson Valley Road
if you're in West Auckland please consider supporting this awesome charity either with donations (CURRENTLY as of 4 June "dire need of children's clothing from newborn to 10 years") (or with TIME*)
if you can't help with donations, ALL GOOD - maybe consider donating your TIME - lending a hand with help (an hour or two of extra hands can really make a difference)
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
59.5% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
26.1% No, individuals should take responsibility
-
14.4% ... It is complicated
Brain Teaser of the Day 🧠✨ Can You Solve It? 🤔💬

(Trev from Silverdale kindly provided this head-scratcher ... thanks, Trev!)

Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?
The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed 🚗🚲👟
While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisations—like NZTA—manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.
We’d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?
-
79.4% Community feedback and transparency is needed.
-
20.6% No. This would be impossible in practice.
