Revel in Routine
Oh the surety of the coming day
When we rise from our beds
Reaching for the alarm
And raising our weary heads
Getting ready with programmed precision
Turning on the jug
Cutting lunch, getting dressed
Pouring boiling water into the mug
Going about our day or night
The only interruption
Is when our transport is delayed
Or technology has caused disruption
Checking out our appearances
To last the work days pace
At last leaving through the door
To start the pre-dinner race
Routine is the new 2021 blessing
Of giving as well as receiving
Value the lessons of the past year
And leave behind 2020 misgivings

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
