Our furry friends

Lana from Ponsonby

Hi everybody out there, hoping we all are staying strong and true to our bubbles. Just wanted to be sure that everybody's pets are included in our personal space. Very unsafe to encourage other peoples pets to play and get fed at your place. If it is not your animal, very important to send the wee darlings home. Their mums n dads will be worried about them, particularly the older more vulnerable people in the neighbourhood. Other peoples pets are not for entertainment. Stay safe everybody.

Kaitiakitanga (Guardianship and Stewardship) - Day 17

Kiran Reddy from Mount Eden

Tāne’s Gift of the Forest

Tāne planted the great forests and entrusted their care to humankind, warnihonoringto take only what was needed and to replenish what was used.

He sent the birds to teach people balance, showing them how each creature contributed to the wellbeing of the environment.

When people acted as kaitiaki (guardians), the land thrived; when they were careless, the land suffered.

Moral: Guardianship of the land ensures that future generations can thrive, honoring the gifts of nature.
