Auckland Transport (AT) said members would attend the meeting from 11am to 1pm but trains would be cancelled approximately two hours either side of the meeting as well.
This was to ensure members had the time to get to the meeting and services would return to normal afterwards. However, some services may be affected outside of these times, the AT spokesperson said. More information here .

The mission is operating temporarily in Union St in the CBD while construction work gets under way for its new facility at its Hobson St site. Auckland City Missioner Chris Farrelly said that had forced some changes to this year's operation. "From today we begin distributing our emergency Christmas food parcels and presents – but instead of doing that from Hobson St, thanks to enormous community support we are operating out of Eden Park, the Ngā Whare Waatea Marae in Mangere and Papakura Marae. "We are thankful our clients will no longer have to queue from midnight outside our Hobson St building just to ensure a little Christmas cheer for their families."
The giving begins at Eden Park and Ngā Whare Waatea today, and at Papakura Marae on Wednesday. Eden Park chief executive Nick Sautner said the stadium was thrilled to be able to play a part in bringing some cheer to families in need. "The park has sown a rich history for itself over the past 115 years and throughout that, community has remained at its centre. We are committed to utilising the park for more than just rugby and cricket and to have the opportunity to support a worthy cause like the City Mission this festive season is fitting." The Ngā Whare Waatea Marae, of the Manukau Urban Maori Authority (MUMA), in Mangere and Papakura Marae are also working closely with the mission to distribute food parcels, presents and Work and Income support.
"MUMA has a longstanding partnership with the City Mission and it is only fitting that we open up Nga Whare Waatea Marae for this purpose," said authority chief executive Wyn Osborne. "Our goal is and always has been to serve whānau in South Auckland. This is at the core of everything we do. As kaitiaki, or guardian, of our community it's a privilege to be part of this collective effort to share a little extra Christmas spirit with whānau." Papakura Marae chief executive Tony Kake adds, "We are absolutely committed to serving our local community in this way. If our support can bring a cheer to a family or a smile to a child face over this festive season - awesome!" Farrelly said that over the years people had had to travel at great cost from South Auckland to get the mission's assistance; now, because of the generosity of two marae, the mission could go to the people.

Hi everyone,
The holidays are almost upon us. For home-based adults or students who will not be working full-time, or going away ... and who love animals ... this may be the perfect time to invest in rehabilitating an abandoned cat which has been uplifted from the street.
There are 8 x TAME 10 month old (teenage) cats in Glendene which desperately need pre-fostering.
If :
- you are in a single-family home (i.e. not flatting) with a screen door, or screens on the windows
- you have a reasonably quiet home environment (i.e. no 'boisterous' younger siblings) or loud parties
- there is often someone home.
- you have time each day to spend working with one or more of these young tame cats (to get them re-used to human handling).
... please call or text Maria (022 0109068).
You will be provided with a large cage (crate) to initially contain the cat. As the cat gets tamer, they will be able to leave the crate and walk around the house. The screens (door or window) will allow fresh air to circulate without risk of their getting lost. When they are ready for adoption, they will be advertised for re-homing.
Of course, if you decide to keep them that would be wonderful.
This is a great opportunity for anyone who has vet or vet-nurse aspirations. ... or anyone who would like to offer hope to an abandoned animal.
Look forward to hearing from you. :))

This will be someone that embodies the big guy with the white beard year round and who people in your neighbourhood often refer to as Santa.
Obviously, this person will also be the one that is called upon each year to don the red suit to go out and about posing for photos, handing out presents and just be an all-around nice charitable person.
If you know of someone, please leave us a comment with your details and how we can get in touch with your local Santa. COMMENT BELOW!

The Home Safety checklist will give you practical tips on how to avoid falls, sprains and strains while pulling those stubborn weeds. For example, when you’re gardening avoid heavy lifting and use long-handled tools so you’re not bending over for long periods. Steady yourself when bending and standing, no pesky weed is worth falling for!
A new movement called Live Stronger for Longer is helping to reduce the risk of falls by providing practical information and free resources. We want to help you stay on your feet, and living the life you want to live.
Take the home safety checklist with your friends and family and join the movement today.
Proudly brought to you by ACC, HQ&SC, MOH and your local community health providers.
