I then discovered the Caltex was also advertising at $1.94.....so would have been $1.88 with the 6c off.
Everyone be aware that Gull's advertised price is a little misleading, as other companies deduct discounts off advertised prices.

• Gifts under the tree are tempting for thieves so make sure they, and other valuables, can not be seen from outside the home. Also, be careful when disposing of any tell-tale packaging.
• Do not advertise when the house is empty by leaving messages on the answering machine or on social networking sites, or allowing parcels to be delivered to an empty home.
• Let neighbours know if going to be away, give them a contact phone number, and ask them to clear your mail.
• Make sure it is difficult for someone to break into the house – lock the shed, put away tools and wheelie bins.
• Do not leave a spare house key in an obvious place. Consider security options that complement each other, such as alarms, security lights and deadlocks on doors and windows.
Car theft
=======
• Lock the car, no matter where it is parked and keep your keys with you. Try to park in open, well-lit areas, or an attended, secure parking building.
• Take shopping and other valuables out of the car with you.
• If you've shopped 'til you've dropped, and must leave items in the car, then keep them in the boot.
• Remove the GPS cradle and mobile charger.
• Install additional security to your car such as an alarm, or immobiliser, to help deter thieves.

Early responses to the initiative have been overwhelmingly positive, but Mayor Phil Goff has revealed the move is about more than just saving people money.
The real reason for the initiative is predominantly safety, as the Friday before Christmas is one of the worst days annually for drink-driving. "We're working w/ Police to reduce that and one key initiative is to provide free public transport on Friday so that people all across Auckland can get home safe for xmas," he wrote on Twitter. At 4pm on Friday, the gates at train stations will be opened and Hop Card tagging machines on buses will be turned off. AT says commuters will only get free travel if their journey begins before that point. AT Group Manager Metro Service Delivery Stacey Putten says the initiative came about after discussions with police. "If we can provide a free, easy public transport journey home, then it means there's no need to drive at all," she says. "You can a have a drink after work, and you don't even have to think about the car, just get the bus or the train." Tamaki Makaurau Road Policing Manager Inspector Scott Webb says crashes related to drink-driving always pick up during the festive season. "If you are in any doubt at all about being safe or legal to drive after drinking - don't drive," Insp Webb says. "It's vital you look after your mates. Make sure you have a plan to get home safely."
