Petition to help young family

Craig from Grey Lynn

Hi there,

I'm helping a young family with links to the neighbourhood who are facing significant financial and emotional distress because of issues with their 'new build' home

A petition has been started on Change.Org which outlines their plight.

www.change.org...

The family - mum, dad and their young daughter - face growing frustrations, particularly with the Waikato District Council. Disappointingly even elected councillors, who you would hope would represent their constituents, are refusing to engage.

We hope that growing the number of votes on the petition will help spur the conscience of councillors and others, as well as start a conversation on a better way to support those let down by people they should have been able to trust.

Thanks for your consideration...

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
