A DO NOT MISS SHOW
A one of a kind show, coming to Auckland for five nights only. Jam-packed, music-filled, packed full of characters, joy and hope! Deb Filler returns to the world stage with her hilarious show, I DID IT MY WAY. Internationally acclaimed as a character actor, comic, musician and writer, she’s New Zealand’s only Jewish comedian and spends an evening telling incredible true tales of encounters with some of the world’s most generous and talented musicians, including her friend LEONARD COHEN. Deb’s film of her meeting LEONARD BERNSTEIN will have you aching with laughter and move you to tears.
With only a guitar and a raft of lovable characters, Deb is a one-woman tour de force in this jam-packed, music-filled show. Past shows have had her bake challah bread onstage (Filler Up!) or playing 36 characters in an unforgettable journey (Punch Me in the Stomach.) Her masterful story-telling chocka full of inspired, joyful music and humour continues to illuminate stages internationally.
“Side splittingly funny. These are masterful tales, and the show is not to be missed.” Helen Clark, former NZ Prime Minister
“In the end, what makes her performance so irresistible is her innate mimetic genius – her sharp, compassionate observation of people, her instinct for spot-on timing and just-right exaggeration, her amazingly limber facial expression and body language. But, most of all, it’s the unfeigned warmth of her connection with her audience” – Vancouver Observer
