Volunteer Planting Day - Tahuna Torea Nature Reserve
Here’s a great opportunity to make a difference to Auckland's parks. Come along with family and friends and help nurture green places for everyone to enjoy.
- Sunday 25th July, 1.30pm
- Meet at main carpark, end of West Tamaki Road
- Wear gumboots, bring gloves and a shovel if you have one
There are tasks available to accommodate most levels of fitness. Previous experience is not necessary.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
