Inside New Zealand's first full optometry clinic on wheels

Mildred Armah Reporter from Central Leader

Eye care just got cheaper and more accessible - at least for the next five years, with the launch of Vision Bus Aotearoa, the country’s first full optometry clinic on wheels.

Philanthropically-funded, and provided by the University of Auckland’s school of optometry and vision science, the New Zealand vision bus is fully equipped to deliver free comprehensive eye examinations, prescription glasses, and correcting lenses to those in need.

The mobile eye service aims to target key groups like geographically isolated communities, people from lower socio-economic backgrounds, children, and those in high-risk groups.
