Dee Sims from Waitematā Local Board

Please join us to help plant new trees to improve the local tree canopy cover in Parnell ~ this Saturday 26 June starting at 10am. Meet us in the park.

We aim to plant 25 specimen trees (including fruit trees) across Fraser Park.

This event is sponsored by the Waitematā Local Board as part of our annual program to increase tree numbers across the local board area.

The Waitematā Local Board would like to thank the Parnell Business Association, Parnell Community Committee and Parnell Heritage for their support with this event.

Bring a spade, sturdy footwear and suitable warm clothing for a day of tree planting.

There will be a sausage sizzle and drinks provided at lunch time.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
