Retro/Vintage Teak Veneer Cabinet
Price $150 OBO
Not sure on price for this, so jus took a stab at asking price. If too high let me know, I'm pretty confident BIL and sister will negotiate.
This is yet another piece of furniture that is deserving of its own passport. I have been tasked with the sale of this item as well, man I should be asking for a commission, hahaha.
Anyways, once again, my BIL has to part with another of his treasures due to lack of space (and rethinking of their storage needs) in their new home here in NZ. Don't worry he will stop crying soon enough and I reckon will start hiding his other smaller treasures.
It was originally purchased in the 90's from a retro shop by my brother-in-law when my sister and him moved to Melbourne. It was then shipped to the US when they relocated there around 2010. They then they shipped it back to NZ late last year! (Same shop and bought at same time as previous room divider listing, if you saw that one.)
This one unfortunately only has a teak veneer, but it is in excellent condition and still looks a treat. Also the veneer is actually quite thick, minimum 0.5cm on every exterior surface.
I have taken pictures to show the sill beautiful and bright veneer, as well as the underlying wood (which can be seen at the back side).
It comes with 2 shelves and the backing board, which has been removed to enable easier handling.
Measurements approx:
870mm (L) x 66mm (H) x 420mm (W)
Just make note, if this has a lot of interest then I will put up as 24hr TM auction like I did the room divider (BIL and sisters instructions).
Please ask any questions or for more pictures if required.
Some Choice News!
DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.
Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.
For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.
Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?
We hope this brings a smile!
