Online: Waitematā Local Board Recovery Budget Hearing Event

Dee Sims from Waitematā Local Board

Consultation on one of the most important budgets in Auckland's history is now open. Auckland Council wants to recover from the impacts of COVID-19, supporting growth in local communities and across the region.

Impacts of the Recovery Budget will be felt locally across Waitematā, so we need to know what's important to you and your community to help us prioritise spending over the next 10-years.

Register to present your views on the Recovery Budget and the Waitematā Local Board priorities for 2021-2022, at our Hearing Style Event, via Skype for Business. The event is happening Tuesday 9th March, starting 4:30pm.

Waitematā Local Board members and Councillors Desley Simpson and Pippa Coom will be in attendance to hear the presentations and answer your questions.

If you’d like to give a presentation, please email us to register and for instructions on how to join: waitematalocalboard@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz by 5pm Monday 8th March.

Everyone is welcome to attend via Skype for Business to listen to the presentations and discussion. Contact us for instructions on how to join: waitematalocalboard@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz

Toka Tū Ake EQC

The long weekend is the perfect time to make your place safer for an earthquake with these steps:

• Find out where you can turn off your water and gas mains
• Check your chimney for any signs of wear and tear, or damage
• Check your home's foundations are secured
• Move heavy items that are up high to safer, lower down locations.
• Secure tall and heavy furniture and appliances

These simple actions can keep your whānau safer in case of a big shake, so tick them off and make the most of your break.
