Most of us enjoy just listening to birds but for Tim Lovegrove, talking to birds is as normal as chatting over coffee with friends.

Whether a need for food or a need to give, the Open Street Pantry Movement facilitates neighbours helping neighbours, building community. All street pātaka (pantries) are stocked organically. Those who wish to contribute may do so at their own discretion when convenient. This is not a new idea. Our ancestors have done this in many shapes & forms in the past and our neighbours over in the U.S.A have done an amazing job doing this with their own version all over the united states. We are everyday residents like yourselves. We are inspiring Community Empowerment, Capacity building our kaitiaki's, enabling Inter-generational connectedness, it's Grass-roots led, & true Neighbourhood development all in one.
Pātaka Kai - for those who don’t know - is the Māori term for a food storehouse or basically a pantry.

How's the weather in your community? Heavy rain has hit the city on Wednesday, with the possibility of thunderstorms on the way.
People are being advised to watch out for delays on the roads, and to look out for surface flooding - including rivers, streams and also drains that could flood.
How's your house and garden? Do you have any flooding? Are their traffic delays in your suburbs? Let your neighbours know in the replies!

I am using Neighbourly in the hope I can make contact this way. We see your posters around the parish but very few of us have any ideas what you stand for. We would like to understand your motivations and areas where you think you can make a difference. In particular I would like your views on the following to help us decide who to vote for:
1). Auckland fuel tax
2). The non-business and water quality targeted rate that without consultation has been rushed through and slapped upon many local properties who are 'off the grid' with regards water and sewerage. My comment here is that we pay for the upkeep and servicing of our own water and sewerage systems. In charging us for a non-business and water quality targeted rate I am assuming we get something for our money?
3) The poor state and safety issues with many of our rural roads brought about in part by heavy traffic due to development.
4). Mayor Goff's non consultative authoritarian government style. Are you prepared to fight for constitutional accountability and on what points?
Looking forwards to your comments on Neighbourly
