I reckon I can get them home without one too and if not, … View moreI've just bought 4 bottles of milk from my local dairy and was surprised when the shop owner became almost insistent that I take a plastic bag to carry them home. (Gosh, I thought...... I made it to the counter without a bag..... I reckon I can get them home without one too and if not, I'll use one of the reusable bags I have in my car.)
We need to strongly encourage retailers especially dairy owners to follow suit from the supermarkets and stop using single-use plastic bags. Please say NO if you are offered a bag and never ask for one. Instead, let them know they should not supply any single-use bags.
If we can manage a supermarket shop without single-use bags we must surely be able to manage when buying a bottle of milk and a loaf of bread.
Free single size bed base and mattress set, very good condition. I can drop off if you are local.
No marks (marks you see in photo are just streak marks from me wiping it down). Solid and sturdy. Dismantles for easy transport.

We’re just using this in the garage, some stains, just wondering if anyone could make use of it?

It’s pretty big, approx. 1.5m x 80cm wide, and it’s not particularly quiet but it does the job and will cool you down instantly.
It’s a bit dusty at the bottom but otherwise works just fine.
Must pick up by Saturday 19th January at 6 PM.

Full disclosure: this had a tear at the bottom but it’s been taped up with rubber tape and the underside is a little mouldy. There’s also minor stains throughout. Some sun and cleaning might fix that up though.

It’s definitely dirty inside and out, but with some elbow grease it’ll clean up just fine! I tested it and the black marks on the seals come out no problem.

For quite possibly the first time, the Club held a Mixed Triples Championship which, like many new Mixed events at Club and Centre level, has proved to be a very successful venture. As it happened the two top … View moreFor quite possibly the first time, the Club held a Mixed Triples Championship which, like many new Mixed events at Club and Centre level, has proved to be a very successful venture. Six teams played a Round Robin with the intention of the two top teams playing a final. As it happened the two top teams after Round Four met in the fifth round, which due to the hot weather conditions, was deemed to be the final.
There were several close finishes in the earlier rounds but the final proved to be the closest with a tied score going into the last end. After a superb lead's shot saw the jack closely trailed (to go 1:0 up) the shot bowl was then dislodged by a short front bowl being struck by Skip No.2 resulting in a hold change. Skip No 1's last bowl all but reversed the process - but not quite, and the final score was a win by one shot after a total of 40 ends of bowling. They don't get any closer than that!
For the record, Match Convenor Rick Markovina presented the Trophy to the first(?) mixed Triples Club Champions, Mandy & Ian Little with Doug Laughlan. The runners up were Eileen & Richard Ponting with John Everett. Well played both teams, it was an intriguing and dramatic final - great entertainment for the gallery.
