Pipe testing detects cracks in waste disposal

From the 1500 houses tested, inspectors found 19 properties had stormwater pipes illegally connected to wastewater pipes.

From the 1500 houses tested, inspectors found 19 properties had stormwater pipes illegally connected to wastewater pipes.
A further 12 houses had gully traps that were too low, 18 properties had suspected cracked pipes, and in five instances there were defects in manhole covers.

Auckland Diwali Festival is happening from 14 - 15 October this year and applications are now open for all stallholder sites at the festival.

Diwali is one of Auckland’s most popular cultural festivals, with tens of thousands of people attending in 2016.

There are five types of stalls available this year:
• Food stall (vegetarian only, no egg products allowed)
• Sweets only
• Craft stall (music, clothes, art, etc.)
• Henna only
• Promotional stall (including charity, not-for-profit and business information)

In response to community feedback and advice, egg products will no longer be permitted in food sold at the Auckland Diwali Festival.
