The price of water is going up
The price of water is going up. From WaterCare:
"From 1 July, the amount Aucklanders pay for water and wastewater services will go up. We expect the price rises will result in an increase of around $2.30 a month for a typical three-person household (around $0.54 a week)."
"The price of water will increase by 2.5 per cent from $1.517 to $1.555 (including GST) per 1,000 litres and the price of wastewater services will increase by an average of 3.3 per cent."
"We are planning to spend $5.5 billion on upgrading and expanding our infrastructure over the next 10 years. About 70 per cent of the funding will come from our water and wastewater charges, with the rest coming from infrastructure growth charges and borrowings.”
