New Covid-19 cases decline for second consecutive day

Ripu Bhatia Reporter from Central Leader

There are 49 new cases Covid-19 in the community with 33 in hospital, six in ICU and two on ventilators.

Six active cases are babies under one.

Director general of health Ashley Bloomfield said cases will continue to decline and we are seeing chains of transmission breaking.

Auckland will remain at alert level 4 for at least another two weeks, while everywhere south of it will move to alert level 3 on Tuesday night.

Northland moves to alert level 3 on Thursday evening.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said moving to alert level 3 was “progress” but still requires a great level of caution.
