Rules Reduced Around Construction Noise

Auckland Council will for one month (to be reviewed 29 May) reduce the rules around construction noise. For four weeks from April 28, construction hours will be 7.30am - 8pm and Sundays from 9am to 4pm.
There will be a three-tiered approach to this.
Approval is required from the Council to operate under Tiers 2 and 3.

We know that noise rules in the city centre are already very permissive, so this has the potential to impact apartment dwellers a bit more severely, if not properly managed and monitored.

Some sites may apply for longer construction hours if they can demonstrate that they’ll be able to manage the site and keep noise to a minimum.

As always, if you think noise limits or rules are being breached you should contact noise control - they are open for business as well!
