"We are now entering a time where families are separated into individual household bubbles and unable to communicate and interact the way they normally do. Our neighbours are the ones who can step up and help."

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
- Why the early bird gets the worm;
- Life isn't always fair;
- And maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.
It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death,
-by his parents, Truth and Trust,
-by his wife, Discretion,
-by his daughter, Responsibility,
-and by his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 5 stepbrothers;
- I Know My Rights
- I Want It Now
- Someone Else Is To Blame
- I'm A Victim
- Pay me for Doing Nothing
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.
If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

*Very well written piece. Should circulate to all those who still have the common sense to understand what this piece is all about.*

We've been watching this train wreck happen since it started in China and we have compiled a resource of well-supported information for people so they can come up to speed on this far quicker.
The measures implemented by the government are welcomed and will help, however, like most things it is helped more by people doing what is asked of them and being informed to do it in the best possible way.

Already organisations such as IRD and the Post Office are no longer accepting them. Some businesses are also starting to become reluctant to handle cash, for fear of infection.
Most of us use cards and internet banking, so this is no problem. However, a significant number of older people don't have access to these methods, and rely on cheques or cash to pay some of their bills.
The covid-19 advice to all people over 70 is to self isolate as much as possible.
Surely the banks should announce postponement of their move and IRD, Post Office etc should reverse their decision for the immediate future to prevent additional stress to some particularly vulnerable members of society at this dreadful time.

There are plenty of ways to keep in touch and support one another over the next several weeks. Just don't forget about those with limited internet or mobile phone access!

Very close to the beach, 2 minutes walk to Rothesay Bay beach and 5 minutes walks to Browns Bay beach and village with heaps of shops, cafes, restaurants etc.
One room is down the end of the house sharing a lounge, bathroom and toilet with another mature guy living in this end of the house as well.
Per week $290 for one person +$60 for power, water and internet. Extra person per week $80.
The other room is private furnished en-suite with a queen bed and single bed. Private bathroom, toilet, Netflix, fridge and two private balconies with a feel leaving in a mini-resort is available a few months ahead.
The en-suite is per week $390 for one person +$60 for power, water and internet. Extra person per week $100.
House is large and got another living, lounge, dinning and kitchen areas to share plus many decks and great outside area with swimming pool and BBQ and table tennis.
The house is set up as a holiday house, why I'm a bit careful with long term renting. However, we can discuss further if you have more long term in mind.
At the moment I have another two nice mature guys staying in the house as well..
House is big, so still heaps of space for privacy.
If you wish to see one of the rooms, please call or text me to organize a time to visit.
Looking forward to hear from you :)
