Family Rebuild help After a Devastating Fire

Josh from Ellerslie

On Wednesday, 30th October 2025, tragedy struck when a fire tore through Sanjay’s family home, destroying nearly everything they owned. Sanjay, his wife Neha, and their 7-year-old child Jay were lucky to escape unharmed — but the fire left them with nothing but the clothes on their backs. It’s been an incredibly tough time as they face the reality of starting over from scratch. The family doesn't have contents insurance to claim their loss. They are in temporary accommodation until 17th Nov. They are looking for 2 Bedroom affordable accommodation in and around Parnell primary school zone. Any help will be highly appreciated. Sanjay's employer has setup Givealittle page as well. givealittle.co.nz...

Hye Won Lee (Diane) Lee from Korea-NZ Cultural Association

We are happy to be part of 2026 World of Cultures as a co-host, sharing Korean culture with the community. Yesterday, we held a Korean Lantern Making (Cheongsachorong) workshop, and it was lovely to see so many children and families enjoying the activity together at Onehunga Library.

Poll: Are you still heading to your local for your caffeine fix, or has the $$ changed your habits? ☕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Auckland has a thriving cafe culture, but with costs climbing, that culture is under pressure. We’ve seen the headlines about recent closures across the country, and it’s a tough pill to swallow along with a $6+ coffee.

We all want our favourite spots to stay open, but we also have to balance our own budgets ⚖️

We want to know: How are you handling the "coffee math" in 2026? Are you still heading to your local for a chat and a caffeine fix, or has the cost of living changed your habits?

Keen to read more about "coffee math"? The Post has you covered.
