Storm clean up - Te Atiawa Park playground and Wesley Knight dog park

The Team from Kāpiti Coast District Council

💨 It sure has been windy this week! Our Operations and Arboriculture teams have been kept busy responding to storm debris and damage in our open spaces and parks.

This week we'll be trimming the large macrocarpa tree in Te Atiawa Park playground, beside the BMX track, to reduce its height and the risk of windthrow. The BMX track and playground will be closed Friday 29 September, 8am–4.30pm for this important mahi.

Our teams will also be clearing away storm debris on Friday at Wesley Knight dog park on Ocean Road, Paraparaumu Beach.

Ngā mihi for your patience while we complete this work. If you see anything like this that you think needs our attention, you can log a service request through our FREE Antenno app 👉🏼 www.kapiticoast.govt.nz...

We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
