⚠️HEAVY RAIN WARNING
MetService New Zealand has issued a Heavy Rain Warning for Tararua, Kāpiti and Wairarapa from 4pm Friday–12pm Saturday. Kāpiti can expect 70 to 100mm of rain, with peak rates of 20mm per hour.
Heavy rain may cause streams and rivers to rise rapidly. Surface flooding and slips are also possible and driving conditions may be hazardous.
If you are in a low-lying area now would be a good time to clear your stormwater drains, gutters and spouting of leaves and to check over your household emergency plans.
Stay safe out there and keep an eye on Metservice, Wellington Region Emergency Management Office and our website www.kapiticoast.govt.nz... for the latest weather updates.
