Recreational swimming alert
⚠️ We know it’s super humid out there right now and that our rivers and beaches can be an enticing way to cool off however, we always suggest you avoid swimming in these areas for 2-3 days after heavy rain.
LAWA is currently showing all of our monitored river and coastal sites as either an orange alert 🟠 (caution advised) or a red alert 🔴 (avoid swimming). Please check the latest results for your favourite spot before you go 👉🏼 www.lawa.org.nz...
And, don't forget you can visit our local splash pads, pools and aquatic centre for cooling off.💧

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
