Our final local body election results have been declared so what happens next?
Over the coming weeks, your elected representatives will participate in an induction programme to help them settle into their new governance roles. This involves getting to know our Council, our iwi partners, and our community, the challenges and opportunities facing our district, and our mahi to deliver on our Long-term Plan 2021-41.
We’ll be keeping you updated on what your elected representatives are up to each week, but in the meantime you can take your own crash course in Council. You might be surprised how much of our work impacts your daily life - www.kapiticoast.govt.nz...

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
