Supporting local business - The hood restaurant

Hannah from Glendowie

This Covid19 is hurting so many people around us so ... Just wanted to write a wee review on The hood restaurant on Riddell road! I am super fussy with my Italian but I tell you what! Hands down the best takeout I have EVER had!! The pasta - which I’m assuming is handmade because that ain’t no packet pasta - was outstanding and the sauces were better than ever! We had a pizza, prawns, caprese, mushroom truffle pasta Bolognese and gnocchi ... and don’t get me started on the gnocchi literally nailed it! Light fluffy melt in your mouth dreamy!! In these hard times support local... they do Uber eats too so you don’t even have to drive there!!

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
