Please give fresh water to birds/wildlife in your garden each day

Susan Neighbourly Lead from St Heliers

Summer can be a tough time for birds & other wildlife, with water being very hard to find. If you can spare water for them, they'll really appreciate it. It's easy to create an 'oasis': bit.ly... Please spread the word to friends & family - thanks.

NB People in many parts of NZ are being asked to conserve water, so here's an idea for collecting water that would otherwise be wasted, and giving it to birds/wildlife instead. If you're going to wash dishes or have a shower, put a bucket in the kitchen sink and shower to capture the cold water when you first turn the tap on, before it warms up. Then you can use this cold water for the containers for animals.

Poll: Should you ask before planting tall shrubs/trees near your property line?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

It may be fine now but in a few years trees can block out light or views for neighbours.

Do you think neighbours should ask before they go ahead and plant these?
