How do I switch between my business and personal profiles?
You can use Neighbourly as both "[your name] from [your suburb]" and as "[business name]".
To switch between your business and personal profiles, simply click on the drop down tab at the top right of the website. This tab will show ‘My Neighbourly’ if you’re on your personal profile, and your business name if you’re on your business profile.
You can also switch profiles using the drop down tab next to the ‘Post a message’ field - just click the image next to this box and select the profile you’d like to post from.

How do I set a password on my new Premium Business account?
Once you have completed your business application and submitted it, we will send you an email letting you know your application has been received and is awaiting approval. In this email there is a ‘create a password’ link so you can choose a password for your Neighbourly account.
If your business notification email is missing, you can do a password reset by entering your email address here.
-
Do I need to have a personal Neighbourly profile as well as my business profile?
Joining Neighbourly with a personal profile in your home neighbourhood is the best way to understand how Neighbourly works; you'll be able to see what your neighbours are posting about, and which messages get the best response in your community.
Once you have created both a personal profile and a business profile, these profiles can be linked so you can easily switch between the two.
However, if you'd prefer to only use Neighbourly as a business, you can create a profile just for your business here.
If you need a hand with setting up your business profile please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Editing details on your Premium Business Profile
It’s a good idea to make sure your business profile is looking its best before you begin posting, but it’s easy to make changes and improvements at any time if you need to. If you don’t want your business visible on Neighbourly while you’re making changes, you can temporarily ‘unpublish’ it by clicking the Dashboard button.
Things to check:
Business Type - Have you chosen the best category for your business? This will make it easy for Neighbourly members to find your listing in the Business Directory.
Business Info - Check all your contact details are correct, and add some tags (keywords) about your type of business or the services you provide.
Staff - Add names of other staff members who work at your business. You can choose who is displayed and not displayed, and who can manage the business profile. You can also decide how everyone’s names are displayed - whether you show a staff member's name, job title or a display name.
Address - Check your business address is correct, and select whether you would like your full address listed or just your street name. There are some situations where it makes more sense to have just your suburb showing - if this applies to you, please let us know.
Profile and Cover Images - You might need to resize or crop your images before you upload them to ensure they are the best fit for your business profile. The recommended sizes for business images are:
Profile image: 1 x 1 ratio (square) eg. 200 x 200 pixels
Cover image: 4 x 1 ratio eg. 1200 x 300 pixels
Please note: if you don’t want your business visible on Neighbourly while you’re making changes, you can temporarily ‘unpublish’ it by clicking the Dashboard button.

What is a Multi Listing Dashboard and who should use it?
A Multi Listing Dashboard is a management tool for Premium Businesses with 3 or more listings. This is great for franchise businesses, businesses with multiple physical stores (chains) and businesses with agents in different areas.
We will set you up with a HeadQuarter account to manage each of your individual business profiles (branches). This will allow you to manage all of your business profiles in one place.
The Multi Listing Dashboard will enable you to engage from each of your business profiles at a local level, without having to manage each listing separately.
The Multi Listing Dashboard is available at no extra cost to Premium Businesses with 3 or more listings.
What you can do with a Multi Listing Dashboard
With a Multi Listing Dashboard you can keep track of all of your business listings in one place.
From the Business Overview page you can review activity related to your business, including recent posts, replies, mentions, recommendations and new followers.
You also have the ability to add staff to one particular listing whilst still maintaining overall control and visibility of all listings.
You can post a National message on behalf of your business listings.
-
What is the Premium Business Dashboard?
You will notice that on your Premium Business profile, on the right-hand side of the page next to the ‘Edit business’ button there is a button which says ‘Dashboard’. If you click on this button it will show the last 30 days of activity for your business.
Here is a breakdown of what each individual statistic means:
Profile Impressions: This is the number of times your business profile has been displayed in all of the places we show it on Neighbourly.
Profile Reach: This is the unique number of members from the profile impressions.
(The profile impressions will always be higher than the profile reach as one member may see your business listing in several different places i.e. click onto your business page from a post they have seen on the noticeboard, scroll past the listing in the business carousel or in a business search, and therefore contribute to three impressions.)
Messages Impressions: This is the number of times your posts have been displayed on Neighbourly and in the email digest.
Messages Reach: This is the unique number of members from the messages impressions.
(Again, the message impressions will be higher than the message reach. One user may have seen your message on their own noticeboard, on the public noticeboard, in the email digest etc, which individually count as one impression each.)

What is a National message?
'National message' is a posting tool that allows Premium businesses with a Multi Listing Dashboard to create a post from their business listings. This is not a message that is posted nationally to all members.
A National message is a post that can be shared on behalf of your Premium business listings. This message will appear in the Neighbourly newsfeed as if posted from each local branch separately. You can make the post from all of your business listings or select individual branches from your list.
To use this tool, select ‘National message’ from the menu on the left of the page. You can select to send a regular message or a poll. Here you’ll see the option ‘Pick Branches’ where you can choose to send from all branches or pick the ones you want.
Once you click the blue ‘Post’ button your message will be live on the site in all locations straight away. If you have selected 5 businesses, 5 individual posts will be created (one post from each business). For this reason it’s a good idea to make sure all of the details in your message are correct before hitting ‘Post’. You can edit your posts after they have been created but you will have to edit each post individually.

I want to advertise to a wider area, how do I do that?
Premium Businesses have the ability to post a message to their neighbourhood plus Nearby Neighbourhoods.
A way to target other geographic areas is through a Sponsored or Featured post.
Sponsored posts have the top promoted post position on the newsfeed for 24 hours, followed by a preferred position in days following. Sponsored posts are the 'hero' communication sent in the Daily Digest Email.
Featured posts appear in the top 4 messages on the newsfeed for 24 hours, followed by a preferred position in days following. Featured posts are the leading standard message in the Daily Digest Email.
Sponsored and Featured posts have an additional cost.
If you have a Premium Business account and want to expand the reach of your posts, please contact us about Sponsored and Featured posts.

How do I schedule a post?
The scheduling posts tool is available to Premium Business members. The tool allows you to schedule posts to appear on the Neighbourly newsfeed at a future date. You can plan your posts for the next month in one go.
To schedule a post, create your post as you normally would. Tick ‘Schedule a date for this post’ and select a date and time. Then click ‘Post’. Your post will be not be visible on the newsfeed until your scheduled time.
You can edit a scheduled post using the menu in the ‘...’ button below your post.
Visit this page for advice on what makes a good post and how often to post from your business.
Read the Neighbourly Business Fair Use Policy.

How do I update my business images?
Including images on your Neighbourly business profile is a great way to ensure your profile stands out to potential customers.
The profile image is the small square image that appears by your business name whenever you post. This is a great place to use either your business logo or a photo of yourself.
The cover image is the larger, decorative banner image across the top of your profile.
The recommended sizes for business images are:
Profile image: 1 x 1 ratio (square) eg. 200 x 200 pixels
Cover image: 4 x 1 ratio eg. 1200 x 300 pixels
You may need to resize or crop your images before you upload them to ensure they are the best fit for your Neighbourly business profile. Don't worry if you don't know how to do this, as you can use the image cropping tool when uploading your images.
You can upload jpg or png files (TIFF or pdf files are not suitable).
To update your business images using your computer
Click on the EDIT BUSINESS button
Choose PROFILE AND COVER IMAGES from the left menu
Click on UPDATE IMAGE
Select a file from your computer
Click OPEN
Change the cropping box size by clicking and dragging from the corner. You can move the cropping box by clicking inside the box and dragging the box over your image.
Once you are happy, click CROP
Click on SAVE
Tips
The profile image overlaps the left corner of the cover image on your business page. It's best to choose a cover image that is decorative, rather than one with important information that may not all be visible.
Check out your business page and the business directory to see how your business profile looks to Neighbourly members.

Adding staff members to your business profile
Adding staff members to your business profile is a great way to show your community who else works at your business.
You can also give staff members administration access so they can access the business profile using their own Neighbourly logins.
To add staff members using your computer
On your business profile, click the blue EDIT BUSINESS button
Choose STAFF from the left-hand menu
Click ADD ANOTHER
Enter staff email. Each staff member you add will need a unique email address.
Tick CAN MANAGE ACCOUNT to give your staff member administrative access - this means they can edit and post as your business
Click on DISPLAY THIS STAFF MEMBER to make them visible under the 'Who works here' section of your business profile. You can also include their name or job title
Click SAVE
Your staff members do not need an existing Neighbourly account. If they are new to Neighbourly they will be sent an email asking them to set a password for their new account.
If your staff already have an account using the email address you’ve entered, the business profile will be connected to their personal profile, and they will be able to switch between using Neighbourly as a neighbour and as a business.
To remove a staff member from your business profile, simply click on the X next to their email address and click SAVE.

How can I unpublish or deactivate my business profile?
Unpublishing your business profile temporarily hides your business from Neighbourly members. You might choose to use this tool if your business hasn't launched yet or is undergoing some changes, or if you will be out of town for a while and do not wish to attract business while you are away.
If your business no longer exists, you can deactivate your business profile to permanently delete your business details and posts from Neighbourly.
To unpublish your business profile using your computer
Select your business profile from the My Neighbourly drop-down menu at the top right of the website
Click the blue DASHBOARD button
Hover over the PUBLISHED button and click this to unpublish your business account
When you are ready to publish your business profile again, follow the first two steps above then click the UNPUBLISHED button to republish
To deactivate your business profile using your computer
Select your business profile from the My Neighbourly drop-down menu at the top right of the website
Click the blue DASHBOARD button
Click on DEACTIVATE ACCOUNT to permanently remove your business listing from Neighbourly

How to add a video to your business post
Attaching a video to your post is a great way to ensure your message stands out on the newsfeed. It's easy to add a Vimeo, Facebook or Youtube video link to your Neighbourly post.
Simply copy and paste the URL of the video you would like to display on Neighbourly. You can paste this at the bottom of the message field when creating a post. As long as there is space between your last line of text and the URL, your video will appear along with your live message once you click POST.
Please see How to make a post from your business for more information about creating a post.
If you need to make any changes to your post, simply click the '...' button and select Edit from the menu, or feel free to contact us.
