Setting up your community organisation on Neighbourly
Engage neighbours. Communicate with members. Build community.
Neighbourly makes it easy for community groups, leaders and organisations to connect with neighbourhoods to build stronger communities.
With an organisation profile you'll be able to post to your community in an official capacity to promote the wonderful services you provide. You will also appear in the Organisation directory alongside other local organisations in your community.
For eerything you need to know about organisation profiles on Neighbourly, check out the Organisations section.
To get started, you can select 'Organisations' from the tool bar at the top of your Neighbourly noticeboard, and choose Organisation Sign-up from the left hand side, or simply head here.
Our team will then review your application and get in touch if we have any questions before approving the organisational profile.

How can my organisation engage with a wider audience?
Members have joined Neighbourly to connect on a local level, and you'll notice you have the ability to share your events, updates and other news with Neighbourly members who live locally.
However we understand there are occasions when it would be useful for your organisation to have a wider reach on Neighbourly. Below are a few ways you can spread your messages a bit further:
Ask for help from organisations in your area that have a wider reach, such as your Local Council communications advisor, community house, Local MP, or Age Concern representative.
Neighbourly also offers a community discount on featured posts. If you wish to discuss this option please send an email to sales@neighbourly.co.nz

Scheduling a post from your organisation profile
You don’t need to post your organisation's updates at the time they need to be posted. You may decide to sit down once every month and schedule posts to appear on the Neighbourly newsfeed at a future date. This means that when you’re busy with a fundraiser or event your post will go live automatically, leaving you to focus on any last minute event preparations!
To schedule a post, firstly create your post as you normally would. Then tick ‘schedule a date for this post’, you'll be able to select a date and time. Then click ‘Post’.
Your post will not be visible on the newsfeed until your scheduled time. If you need to edit a scheduled post, you can do so by using the menu in the ‘...’ button below your post.

Do I need a personal profile before creating an organisation profile?
Neighbourly organisation profiles are a wonderful way for community leaders, local groups and charitable organisations to connect (for free!) with their wider neighbourhoods for the good of the community.
A personal profile is not required to set up an organisation profile but it is encouraged. A personal profile, using your real name and residential address, ensures you'll get to enjoy the best of both worlds - a free communication platform, as well as the ability to see what matters most to the people in your neighbourhood.
When you post from your organisation, personal details from your personal profile would not be visible to your community. You can choose to post from a title, such as The Secretary, The Team, Chairperson, Administrator or similar, instead of posting as yourself.
If you have any questions about getting set up on Neighbourly, feel free to get in touch with our Team here.
