My daughter found a set of what looks house keys at the Eastern end of Welsford street Wednesday at around 2pm. They were on the road just off the end of the footpath like someone had dropped them when crossing the road.

Not only is it North Canterbury's biggest and best gym, offering a full range of weights, cardio, Les Mills and other exercise options, but we also have Active Health service providers onsite along with … View moreOur brand new Fitness Centre is now open and running well at 345 Flaxton Road, Rangiora. Not only is it North Canterbury's biggest and best gym, offering a full range of weights, cardio, Les Mills and other exercise options, but we also have Active Health service providers onsite along with an in-house cafe and a sauna.



All this is available to our members for just $16.50 per week - plus we have discounts for students, seniors and Community Services Card holders. And unlike most other gyms we welcome Casual visitors, come for a class or a workout - or just a sauna - and pay just a casual visit.


Our cafe is open to anyone - grab a barista coffee, healthy fruit smoothie and some healthy food while you shop in the area or are waiting for your warrant at VTNZ next door.


The Rangiora Fitness Centre is operated by the North Canterbury Sport & Recreation Trust, with your membership helping the Trust to run its many sporting programmes throughout the region.

High cloud, 18 or 19 degrees, light winds - perfect conditions for riders and spectators both. I rode the track last night and it is in fantastic condition so we should be in for some fast lap times.

This is a perfect event for riders of all abilities and a great way to experience the competitive side of mountain bike racing in a fun, friendly and supportive environment.

This event is for riders of all abilities and offers a challenge for everyone, but is particularly rewarding for those who are new to cycling. We get a large number of first time racers and school teams enter each year and these riders are well supported and encouraged by all other riders. Based from the Rangiora Race Course the Rakahuri Rage involves teams of 2-4 riders competing to see who can do the most laps of the 8km course in 6 hours. The track used in this race is suitable for riders of all abilities combining single-track through river-side bush and wider stop-bank roads.

The Rakahuri Rage is open to riders 12 years and older and has categories to suit all age groups and gender mixes. The event is both fun and challenging and provides a supportive and encouraging environment for young and old, and for new-comers and experienced riders. The event is run by the North Canterbury Sport & Recreation Trust with all proceeds supporting the MainPower Waiswim Primary Schools Swimming Programme.

The week includes 2 visits to the always popular Gymnastics & Trampoline Centre, PLUS we're including 2 sessions of the new action-packed sport of Archery Tag.

This is a fantastic school holiday programme for sports-minded children 7-13 years old. You can book up to 4 children for one day or five days (or any number in between).
